About this Course

The Art Society of Kingsville (ASK) is pleased to invite Val Read back with another class on her own brand of Doodles. This class is an exercise in emptying your mind and creating a picture or design without rigid rules. An enjoyable class exercise to engage in before or after a difficult task or to just free your mind. Valerie (Atkins) Read was enrolled in Art classes at 12 years of age at St. Mary's Academy. She graduated from Assumption College with five credits in Art. Her philosophy is to never stop learning; every class, every teacher allows the opportunity to learn new techniques, new mediums and new ways to explore the creativity within. From classes of sketching in charcoal, learning to bring in colour with pastels, the fluidity of watercolour, instruction in oils, airbrushing techniques and custom airbrushing, learning and teaching acrylics to dabbling with plein air painting. There is always something new to learn. This class has been provided by a grant from The Town of Kingsville.
